Autonomous Driving Monitoring Control

As a follow-up project, Hitachi commissioned amplify design to develop a tool for the description and visualization of autonomous vehicle perception, motion and planning data. The focus lies on the visualization of the recognized road users and data, which is collected by the cars sensors or transferred directly from other parties to the car. The application is designed for a tablet – in this case the Microsoft Surface GO 6 – which is permanently installed inside a test vehicle.

amplify design not only developed the UX/UI design, but also realized a user interface with the help of Unity, which enables a perfect representation of the 3D content through the Real Time Engine. In combination with the interactive map service mapbox, which serves to display the map information, very real driving situations arise - no matter where you are. The data format “Lightweight Communications and Marshalling (LCM)” is used to receive the data required for the visualization.
